Amit ran a Chai-focused cafe as a side business and struggled to deliver consistent and fresh Chai to customers. At work, his colleagues' dissatisfaction with tea-bag, premix, stored and liqueur-based teas made him wonder whether an automated system could replicate the homemade Chai-making process. However, his research revealed that no such system exists and that existing Chai machines are disliked by everyone. Motivated by huge market potential of such a product, Amit spent eight years and 42 design iterations to create zoChai - a fully automatic system that makes taazi, kadak Chai by boiling all-natural ingredients and allows users to customize their Chai by selecting spices, milk-water ratio, and brew strength.
